Ramos headed to NCAA

Ronnie Ramos, a 2003 Nieman Fellow, has been hired by the NCAA as its Managing Director of New Media Strategies and Content Development. During the past five years at the Atlanta Journal Constitution one of Ramos' chief duties has been providing sports and features content for the AJC web sites. Now, he'll be focusing on the internet full time. Read more

Nieman Foundation Announces 2009-2010 Nieman Fellows

The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard has selected 23 journalists from the United States and abroad to join the 72nd class of Nieman Fellows. The group includes print and multimedia reporters and editors; radio and television journalists; photographers; book authors; a filmmaker and a columnist. Read more

Callie Crossley to receive Honorary Degree

Callie Crossley, a 1983 Nieman Fellow, will be awarded an honory degree from Cambridge College. Crossley — a media commentator, public speaker, and Program Manager for the Nieman Foundation — will receive the Doctor of Humane Letters at the college's 38th Commencement on Sunday, June 7. Read more

Jodi Rave ending newspaper career

Jodi Rave, a 2004 Nieman Fellow, is ending her newspaper career to write a book about Elouise Cobell and the Indian Trust Fund lawsuit. Rave worked for Lee Enterprises newspapers for 11 years, reporting on Native American issues. Read more

Fatima Tlisova to Receive Louis M. Lyons Award for Conscience and Integrity in Journalism

The Nieman Foundation will present the Louis M. Lyons Award for Conscience and Integrity in Journalism to current Nieman Fellow Fatima Tlisova on Thursday, May 7, 2009. An an investigative journalist, researcher and expert on human rights issues in the North Caucasus region of Russia, Tlisova is being honored for courageous reporting in the face of severe intimidation and physical assaults. Swine Flu: Reporting the Story
