Journalist and human rights advocate Andreas Harsono, a 2000 Nieman Fellow, was presented with the West Papua Advocacy Team's John Rumbiak Human Rights Defenders Award. Frank Kelly dies at 95

Frank Kelly—a former reporter for the Kansas City Star and speech writer for President Harry Truman, and a founder and senior vice president of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation—died June 11, just one day before his 96th birthday. He was a 1943 Nieman Fellow. Read more

Michael Skoler joins PRI as vice president, Interactive Media

Public Radio International (PRI) announced the appointment of Michael Skoler to the position of vice president of Interactive Media. In this capacity, Skoler will identify, develop and implement interactive strategies for the creation, distribution and engagement of PRI content. Skoler is a 1993 Nieman Fellow and a member of the Nieman Foundation Advisory Board executive committee. Read more
