Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism awarded Anniston (Ala.) Star publisher H. Brandt Ayers its prestigious Carr Van Anda Award Monday, Sept. 26, citing his outstanding career achievements to society and the communications field. "Brandt Ayers is a bit of a living legend in the American newspaper industry, and is perhaps the best-known publisher/editor of what we often refer to as ‘community newspaperss’." said Professor Bill Reader.
