Mary Beth Sheridan has been named deputy foreign editor at The Washington Post, where she has worked as a reporter and editor since 2001. She has covered topics including diplomacy, homeland security and immigration.
Prior to her work at the Post, Sheridan served as a foreign correspondent posted in Italy, Colombia, and Mexico for The Associated Press, The Miami Herald, and the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to her Nieman Fellowship in 2012-2013, she was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University and won the Overseas Press Club’s Robert Spiers Benjamin Award for her Latin America coverage
