Presentation of the 2016 Taylor Family Award and 2017 I.F. Stone Medal

The Nieman Foundation presented the 2016 Taylor Family Award for Fairness in Journalism and the 2017 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence on April 26, 2017. The Oregonian/OregonLive won the Taylor Award for "Toxic Armories." Victor S. Navasky was awarded the I.F. Stone Medal in recognition of a career dedicated to journalistic integrity and for his work speaking truth to power. Read more

2014 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence

Filmmaker Laura Poitras was the recipient of the 2014 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence, awarded each year by the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of “Democracy Now!,” also received a special I.F. Stone lifetime achievement award. Read more
