The East Coast memorial service for Dori J. Maynard, a 1993 Nieman Fellow and president of the Robert C. Maynard Institute for Journalism Education, has been scheduled for May 4. It will take place at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Maynard, a longtime advocate for newsroom diversity, died on February 24 from complications of lung cancer. She was 56.
