John C. Huff Jr., a 1979 Nieman Fellow, has retired from the editorship of the Independent Mail in Anderson, South Carolina, a position which he had held since 2008. During Huff ’s tenure, the newspaper received more than 100 awards in the South Carolina Press Association’s yearly journalism competitions.
