The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, N.H., has announced that it will offer the John S. Carroll Fellowship in journalism annually over the next three years.
The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, N.H., has announced that it will offer the John S. Carroll Fellowship in journalism annually over the next three years. The fellowship honors the award-winning editor of The Baltimore Sun and the Los Angeles Times who died on June 14, 2015, and will support journalists engaged in long-form work. The new program is part of the MacDowell’s Art of Journalism Initiative.  The Carroll Fellowship was established by one of his friends to celebrate Carroll’s legacy as a champion of outstanding journalism.
