Participants in the 8th annual Austin Forum, including a number of Nieman Fellows, issued the “Austin Declaration” during the event held Sept. 17-18. Sponsored by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at UT Austin and the Open Society Foundation, the conference was organized by Knight Center director Rosental Alves, a 1988 Nieman Fellow.
