Hasit Shah received a $35,000 grant from the Knight Foundation in February for his smartphone app Ketla, which aims to provide Indians with news in a comic book format. The grant will fund six months of work to help the fledgling start-up launch the app. "We're hoping the comics are an engaging and shareable form of storytelling," Shah told journalism.co.uk.
