Brent Walth has left his post as managing editor of the Willamette Week to become a journalism professor at his alma mater, the University of Oregon. Walth, NF '06, began his career at the alternative weekly as a reporter in 1986 before taking a leave to write “Fire at Eden’s Gate,” a biography of the late Tom McCall, a journalist and governor of Oregon. He joined The Oregonian as an investigative journalist in 1994 and shared a Pulitzer for public service reporting for a series on the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service before returning to Willamette in 2011.
