How Latinos are Seen and Heard in America

During a special event at the Nieman Foundation, three leading journalists discussed how changing demographics and the new media environment are shaping the nation’s understanding of migration, politics and Latino life. Panelists included: Maria Hinojosa, anchor of NPR’s “Latino USA” program; Isaac Lee, president of news at Univision’ and Laura Wides-Muñoz, Hispanic affairs writer for The Associated Press. Nieman Foundation curator Ann Marie Lipinski moderated the conversation. The talk was co-sponsored by the Nieman Foundation and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in conjunction with Radcliffe’s “Crossing Borders” conference on immigration and gender in the Americas.
