Locations

Events for the 85th Anniversary weekend will be held at the following venues.

Transportation and Parking

  • Friday: Parking is available at public garages in Harvard Square or at parking meters.
  • Saturday programming at Harvard Medical School: Shuttle buses leave from the Sheraton Commander in Harvard Square and free parking is available at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center (see below).
  • Saturday dinner: Shuttle buses leave from the Sheraton Commander in Harvard Square, or you may use public parking garages near the Boston Public Library or parking meters.

Directions to Joseph B. Martin Conference Center Garage

If you are coming from Longwood Avenue:

  • Turn onto Avenue Louis Pasteur (directly across from the Harvard Medical Quadrangle).
  • There will be a large glass building on your left hand side; this is the conference center (directly across from Boston Latin School).
  • The entrance to the garage will be on your left, just after the conference center (there is a Harvard Dental Patient parking sign out front).
  • Pull into the garage and give the attendant your name and the event title (Nieman 85th Anniversary).
  • The attendant will give you a blue swipe card; keep this card as you will use it to exit the garage.
  • Parking is not assigned, so you may park anywhere you like. (There are handicapped parking spots available nearest the elevator bays on both levels of the garage.)
  • Take the elevator to the ground floor (press “G”) and follow the signs.

If you are coming from Fenway:

  • Turn onto Avenue Louis Pasteur (between Emmanuel and Simmons College).
  • There will be a large glass building on your right; this is the conference center (directly across from the Boston Latin School).
  • The entrance to the garage will be on your right hand side, just before the conference center (there is a Harvard Dental Patient parking sign out front).
  • Pull into the garage and give the attendant your name and the event title: (Nieman 85th Anniversary).
  • The attendant will give you a blue swipe card; keep this card as you will use it to exit the garage.

The Nieman Foundation has secured preferential group rates for guests at two local hotels.

Reservations options*:

* Reservations must be made by Tuesday, September 26, 2023, to receive the group rate. After this date, or once the block of rooms is full, the hotel may still be able to take reservations, but cannot guarantee the group rate.

The Harvard Square Hotel

$359 per room, per night
