  1. Nieman Foundation, Pulitzer Center join forces to strengthen global health reporting

    The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting have joined forces to support international reporting initiatives with a special focus on global health coverage.  The partnership will also bring Pulitzer Center journalists to Harvard University for presentations and discussions on underreported international stories and provide an annual workshop for Nieman Fellows.     Craig R. McCoy, a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer, is winner of the 2010 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence. The Nieman Foundation will present the award during a ceremony at Boston University’s College of Communication on October 5, 2010.   3. 2009 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence

    The Nieman Foundation presented the 2009 I.F. Stone Medal for Journalistic Independence to Jon Alpert. An investigative reporter, producer and documentary filmmaker whose career has spanned more than 35 years, Alpert has reported on diverse topics ranging from homelessness and health care to post-war Vietnam and criminals in New Jersey.
