Nieman offers new resources for journalists covering immigration

With generous support from the MacArthur Foundation, the Nieman Foundation organized a workshop in late October for reporters, editors and new media voices who cover immigration. Designed for those who need to better understand the complex economic, labor and legal issues surrounding the topic, the three-day gathering convened a diverse group of experienced journalists, economists, labor leaders, law enforcement officials, researchers and academics.

The site features videotaped talks from the conference as well as an extensive list of reports and research papers and instructions on accessing, analyzing and visualizing large immigration data sets, such as those from the U.S. Census Bureau.
