Susan Smith Richardson, NF ’03, is now editorial director for newsrooms at the Solutions Journalism Network. Most recently, Richardson was the editor and publisher of The Chicago Reporter.
Jeneen Interlandi, NF ’13, has joined The New York Times editorial board to write about health, science, and education. She will also write for the magazine, where she’s been a contributor since 2006.
Betsy O’Donovan, NF ’13, is assistant professor of journalism at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash. Most recently, O’Donovan was the executive director and general manager at The Daily Tar Heel at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Laura Wides-Muñoz, NF ’13, has joined ABC News as executive editor for news practices, a position based in Washington, D.C. Wides-Muñoz was previously a staff writer for the Associated Press and vice president for special projects and editorial strategy at Fusion.
David Jimenez, NF ’15, has begun writing as a columnist for the New York Times Spanish edition. His first piece looks at how Spain could serve a model in the global fight against terrorism.
Dawn Turner, NF ’15, was named a spring 2018 resident fellow at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, where she has led weekly seminars on topics relating to African-American images in the media and their impact on policies.
Brady McCollough, NF ’17, has joined the Los Angeles Times’ sports department, covering USC football and general-interest sports stories. Most recently, McCollough was the projects reporter for sports and news at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Karin Pettersson, NF ’17, is the new director of public policy at Schibsted Media Group. Pettersson, who was previously editor in chief of Aftonbladet, has also been elected chairwoman of the media freedom board of WAN-IFRA, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers.
Jason Rezaian, NF ’17, has joined CNN as a global affairs analyst. He continues in his role as a global opinions writer at The Washington Post. Rezaian and Nieman classmate Alisa Sopova spoke on a recent Washington Post panel about the World Press Freedom Index.
Lauren Williams, NF ’18, will join The Atlantic as a senior editor in June. She previously was a features editor at Essence magazine.
