Nieman Publications

The Nieman Foundation serves a global community of journalists through its three primary publications and its main website, reaching out to reporters, editors and news executives in print, online and through social media. The foundation explores the many challenges and opportunities facing journalists today, providing important guidance and leadership at a time when tough economic realities and technological innovations are altering the way traditional news outlets are structured and practice journalism. Nieman reporting provides crucial information to a profession in need and offers advice from leading practitioners, including many Nieman alumni, who are showing us the way forward.
  • Nieman Journalism Lab — a website that reports on the future of news, innovation and best practices in the digital media age
  • Nieman Reports — an influential quarterly magazine and website that explores contemporary challenges and opportunities in journalism
  • Nieman Storyboard — a website that showcases exceptional narrative journalism in every medium and explores the future of nonfiction storytelling
  • Nieman Watchdog — a website published by the Nieman Watchdog Project from 2004-2012 that explored how journalists can monitor and hold accountable all those who exert power in public life. The website remains online as an archive of watchdog articles.
  • www.nieman.harvard.edu — The Nieman Foundation’s main website provides information regarding Nieman Fellowships, programs, events, journalism awards and foundation news.
The foundation also shares information and serves journalists through its programming and special projects, which include journalism conferences and partnerships, seminars, shop talks and cross-school collaborations at Harvard.

The Nieman Foundation is grateful to the many journalists and other contributors who support our publications, conferences and workshops throughout the year.
