Specialized Fellowships

The Nieman Foundation offers several specialized fellowships to journalists who cover certain beats. These fellowships allow reporters to delve deeply into their subject matter, take advantage of the many experts and resources of Harvard to increase their knowledge and learn new skills and tactics to face challenges on the job. The fellowships enable journalists to report with greater expertise and authority after their year at Harvard and go on to become leaders in their fields.

The fellows in these specialized programs join the other midcareer journalists in their Nieman class to soak in all that Harvard and the Nieman Foundation have to offer – from classes and seminars to workshops, conferences and other special events. These journalists work in all media and come from countries around the globe. They arrive on campus with a detailed study plan but have free rein to study whatever they choose.
