Maria Carrillo

Maria Carrillo is managing editor at the Virginian-Pilot, where she oversees daily news reports. Carrillo has been at the Pilot for ten years, directing many of the paper’s projects and leading its narrative team. Her staff has been nationally recognized, including as Pulitzer Prize finalists in 2007 for explanatory reporting. Three serial narratives she edited for the paper have been expanded into books.
