Master Classes
We are pleased to again offer pre- and post-conference Master Classes at the Nieman Conference on Narrative Journalism. Top writers and editors teach the classes exclusively for published writers who are attending the conference.
The 90-minute sessions, offered at no additional cost to participants, are designed for practitioners seeking to expand and explore their approach to writing news narratives, personal essays, memoir, profiles, crafting a book proposal, and — new this year — travel and science writing. Master Classes will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, March 20 (before the official start of the conference) and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22 (after the final keynote address).
Space is extremely limited. When registering for the conference, you will be given information about attending master classes and about the application process. Please note that applicants must be published writers and will be required to submit samples of their work.
Master Classes are among the most popular offerings at the conference, and we anticipate that they will fill quickly. You must register for the conference early in order to apply. Also, we cannot guarantee placement in your top class choice, but we will make every effort to do so.
