Jeffrey Fleishman

Jeffrey Fleishman is the Cairo bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times. A 2002 Nieman fellow, he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in feature writing. He was previously Berlin bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times and Rome bureau chief for the Philadelphia Inquirer. He has been a finalist for the Goldsmith Award, and a finalist for The Center for Public Integrity’s International Investigative Reporting Award. His first book-length work of fiction, Promised Virgins, A Novel of Jihad, will be published this year.
