Adam Hochschild

Adam Hochschild began his career as a newspaper reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle. Later, he was co-founder and editor of Mother Jones. He has published in Harper’s, the New Yorker, the New York Review of Books and other magazines, writing most often on human-rights issues. His six books include Finding the Trapdoor, King Leopold’s Ghost,and Bury the Chains. He has won a Los Angeles Times Book Prize, two California Book Awards, and a Lukas Prize, and has been a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the National Book Award.
