Mark Jurkowitz worked at a weekly paper early in his career. He covered the media for The Boston Phoenix and The Boston Globe before joining the Pew Research Center’s Research Project as associate director from 2006 to 2014. He is now owner and publisher of the Outer Banks Sentinel in North Carolina.
