John Maxwell Hamilton, former dean of the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University, is LSU’s executive vice chancellor and provost. His latest book, “Journalism’s Roving Eye: A History of American Foreign Reporting,” received the Goldsmith Book Prize this year.
