Paul Mamula, Ph.D. is a freelance biomedical writer. He has spent the last decade writing and editing articles about health care topics. As a senior researcher and writer with the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, he was responsible for writing and updating selected disease overviews for the center’s Web site. As an associate editor in McGraw-Hill’s Healthcare Information Group and their publications, he edited journal articles, wrote editorials, and developed material for special publications. He earned his Ph.D. in medical genetics from Indiana University and has done postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Francisco and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has published articles about research projects in genetics, molecular biology, endocrinology and oncology.
